Kibbutz |
This is a 5-month program, where students learn Hebrew
in an ulpan while working and living on a kibbutz. Participants can
chose a kibbutz from among many options, from the North to the South
of Israel, religious, secular, etc. Each month several new ulpan classes
begin, so starting dates are fairly flexible. |

Minimum 8 weeks of exposure to the complexities of
the problems and challenges facing the Israeli Army, and the role
of the IDF within the framework of Israeli society. Qualification:
Jews from overseas, age 18-28. Marva is not part of the IDF. |

Leadership development program offering young adults
ages 20-26 the opportunity to contribute and acquire an in-depth understanding
of Israel and the Jewish people. |
| Magen
David Adom Volunteers |
2 months volunteering with Magen David Adom, and assisting
the MDA teams of medics and paramedics. MDA is Israel's equivalent
of the Red Cross, specializes in emergency disaster relief and is
fully equipped with ambulances and mobile intensive care units. MDA
has its own blood bank, operates public first-aid stations throughout
the country and conducts basic first aid training. Less publicized
are the tracing services that reunite missing family members and loved
ones. With 12 regional stations and a staff of 9,000 volunteers and
employees, this relief society is highly developed and carries out
many activities within Israel's borders. But MDA also responds to
disasters worldwide. |
